WHAT DO GUINEA PIGS EAT?
Guinea pigs are herbivores, which means they eat plants. Mostly hay, grass and leafy greens but the occasional bit of fruit can be a special treat.
Fresh Hay or Hay Pellets

SAFE
A guinea pig cage should be safe and secure, with walls that allow fresh air, no sharp corners or edges, and a well locking door so guinea pig doesn't accidentally get loose and lost.
LARGE ENOUGH
A guinea pig needs at least a couple square feet per animal. If you're housing multiple guinea pigs, make sure that they each have enough space to move around and get exercise in their cage.
SOLID FLOORING
Just like you wouldn't want to run around barefoot on wire grates, your guinea pig doesn't want to either. It's better for your guinea pig's health and happiness if you provide a cage with a solid floor.
